Smoking In Public Places Soon Prohibited

Recommended Posts

The Ministry of Health in Slovenia has announced that the changes of the law, which will prohibit smoking in all public places, should be accepted by summer. :applause:

The Ministry has made the new draft of the changes of the law on limiting the usage of tobbacco products public. If accepted, Slovenia will join Italy, Ireland and some other EU states, where smoking in public places, including bars is prohibited.

The law would offer to bars and working organizations a compromise solution in the form of 'smoking rooms'. The draft also includes rising the age limit for buying tobacco products from 15 to 18 years old.

According to the institute for the protection of health 62,5% of adults in Slovenia are exposed to smoke, 55,6 % of adult non-smokers. The average duration of exposure (on days when exposed) is approximately 1 hour. Every day 15,2% of adult Slovenians are exposed to passive smoking (on average 2,6 hours per day).

A research in 2003 has shown that school children between ages 13-15 are very exposed to passive smoking at home and in public places. At home 52,2% of non-smokers and even 84,1% of school children who smoke themselves. In public places more children are exposed, 84,1% of non-smoker and 92,4% of children who smoke.

In Slovenia there are 3.000 deaths per year associated with tobacco.

Tashi Delek !

That's a good news. The French government had decided as well to prohibit the cigarette in all public places.

I think this was necessary in the point of view from the ethic, respect and health of everyone.

But all those kind of laws are the results of the unresponsability of each of us. As a person sayd one time "les restos du coeurs" and some lows of prohibitions are the failures of the society (in speaking about "les restos du coeurs" who is an organisation to share foods to homless and hard living persons).

But I'm deviating from the subject !

see ya..
