Michael John Smith 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2008 "People are often unreasonable, illogical & self-centered. Love them anyway. If you do good, People will accuse you of ulterior motives. Do good anyway. If you are successful, you win false friends and true ennemies. Succeed anyway. The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Honesty & frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest & frank anyway. People favor underdogs, But fallow only topdogs. Fight for some underdogs anyway. What you spent years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway. People really need help, But may attack you if you help them. Help them anyway. Give the world the best you’ve got, And you’ll get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you’ve got anyway." This is Unconditionnal Love according to Mother Theresa. Guest Lady Report post Posted September 24, 2008 you are successful, you win false friends and true ennemies. The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. What you spent years building may be destroyed overnight. But may attack you if you help them. Give the world the best you’ve got, And you’ll get kicked in the teeth. THANKS this poems , REALLY that happens not only in this sangha . The result : anybody almost cannot show their humanity... - big sorrow. And who show , perhaps ONLY shows. Only many good human never think that can be happen in a dharmic sangha or any religious group also . This is a very big problem , please spread it( the poem) anywhere, without names , without writer of poem also. The result : we're crying together. A few or more boddhisattvas(with boddh.vows) without clean view cannot help at all to anybody, only they think , and sometimes they force their helping, but sometimes some missclairvoyances and gossipmakers very works to make many lie and many faults on some right humans. Care yourself without any harming sourrounding !
Michael John Smith 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 I think you don't have to have experienced any realisations to see this poem has something in common with dana paramita (sbyin pa) - generosity and giving of oneself. It might also interest some what I read in my newspaper today was that the Catholic church has started psychological testing for those wishing to become priests or nuns. It has been said by many that Mother Teresa would fail to gain entrance today because of her extremism. I disagree with what I believe you are inferring - that only Bohisattva's can be of any practical use. I believe anyone at any stage gain merit by doing good and thinking kindly of others.
