  1. Tashi Delek, I see here many questions opened not just one As to fear I would say that mahayana motivation is something that helps to overcome it great deal. If you do something for the sake of all sentient beings than from a "zero" you can become a "hero" I would say that it defenitely changes a lot. As otherwise than there are many more fears - depends on attachments maybe? As for the team sports, well, maybe in professional sports where there is a lot of money involved it does get that "ugly" - beat the enemy no matter , I don't know. But I thought that the sport is something that should connect people in positive way and there are strong ethics involved as to what is considered a good sports behaviour. There is also skill involved, cooperation in team sports... Ups, not the right one to comment this as I'm not really into watching sports.. But there is also a saying in Slovene - to take something in s spotly spirit (not sure about translation) - which I would understand - being unatached to result, rejoicing in other people's skills, adhere to the rules of the game and not to have negative feelings about the person who was better in some skill... Saying this, although sport can also(the way I see it) help one to develop good qualities, it doesn't have the goal to liberate beings from samsara. best regards, ajda
  2. If I leave out all the themes that you all already covered and are relevant.. Usually when the abortions have to be payed, there is an increase of illegal abortions and self inflicted abortions that have higher rate of mortality of women becouse of improper procedures. best regards prema
  3. There is, if I remember correctly, this story of Yeshe Tsogyel (a female deciple of Pama Sambhava) being raped. I think there were four rapists. She sang them a song where she (now here I am simlifying this) displayed a pure view (seeing everything as a pure, all beings as Budhas and Bodhisattvas) and understanding the true nature of phenomena, displaying Bodhichitta, told them due to ripening of karma and merits, etc.. but to try to achieve this on purpose brings a heavy downfall.. They all became her deciples and gained emediate realisations. She is like the ideal example of how to deal with this kind of situation.. On more conventional level, realising that actions can be condemned as wrong without loosing compassion. And all that you've said already
  4. Tashi Delek, If I understood correctly the advertising company asked the advertising Court beforehand about this specific advertising and they gave them the opinion that it is ok by their standards. The people from the court said that this was the first time somebody asked them in advance. prema
  5. Tashi Delek dear Lacu, Just a little thought from someone who spoke to her Root Guru only once in person so far... You are lucky to have found your Root Guru (ok , it is your good karma). The bond is beyond time and space. If he is not here to talk to you, I am sure you know he'll ever guide you. So, untill he gives you an oral instructions how to deal with this, it doesn't mean he is not now aware of your situation, so, I would myself use a lot of prayer... best wishes prema
