  1. Buddha Shakyamuni - what do you mean by the sentense the forth buddha of eon? Does anyone have any links?
  2. I think that a buddhist person is someone whos goal is to reach the enlighetment for his sake and/or for the sake of other senient beings. What motivation is for it - it probably depends of motivation. Best regards Uroš
  3. Thank you for your answer - it did help me a little . I would like to ask something else. When one takes the refuge in Buddha, Dharma and Sangha, does he then pick his guru teacher/mentor or does he wait for later? Best regards and thanks for replie(s) in forward Uroš
  4. Tashi Delek everyone, since I'm a bit late I will be short and would like to say first about the showing the strong emotions. I really don't get it. Why in the world did he cry or was angry if he was highly realised person? Second of all I think that this type of the play would be easy and nice in the real thing. Since the people who played it were very good actors that wouldn't be the problem. Best regards Uroš
  5. Tashi Delek, How are the dates of the initiations and giving refuges decided? I mean is there any specific reason or date that decides? best regards
  6. Tashi Delek, can others that also haven't involved themselves read the text given above? Because it is said if you read things that aren't ment for you, you wont understand it well or correctly... best regards Uroš
  7. Tashi Delek, The trailer says it all (btw. who exactly is Milarepa?) Do you know any other movies like the one about Milarepa? best regards Uroš
  8. Tashi Delek! When the pope critisises other religions he is well aware that they are very much important. He also knows that the buddhism isn't a religion based on mere belief but also a religion of ones heart and mind which can lead you (so it's said ) to enlightement. If he was more aware he would even know that katholic religion has strong roots from the east and had contact with eastern philosophies. Basicly he looks like he's trying to get back to the dark ages and thinks that people are still peasants from churches wing. best regards Uroš
  9. Thank you very much for the answer . It sorted out a few things... Best regards Uroš
  10. Tashi Delek! I have a little problem reciting mantras; first I do not know what they mean, second I do not know where I could get the explanations, third and most important, I'm reciting the mantra OM MANI PADME HUM - the purifying mantra. What does this mean and how do I recite it exactly (I've been told to do it like om mani peme hun/m, but recently there were some pages that made me think...). Best regards Uroš
  11. First of all thank you for the answer it made some things clearer . I would like to ask you all who are reading this and trying to be scientific, don't be! The deeper you start to read from buddhism the more you see that you can't disprove it. Whatever you say is always under the question mark.... First the thing about compasion is greatly written on the Lama Yeshe site http://www.lamayeshe.com/lamazopa/goodheart.shtml . The second thing about the reincarnation. There are therapies world wide and books that describe the process of dying - sooner or later it's going to be said to be the right thing... What scientists cant prove doesnt mean it isnt there. And if you believe in it you should be open minded all the time - not saying that when something is said as permanent (but reincarnation is one of the most posible things) if anything is disproved than you thik why and how. We all are intelectual beins. Please dont worry so much if its right or wrong, just enjoy the life and the practises of buddhism. They work and read that page... ;-F Best Regards Uroš !:!
  12. Thank you for your answer it really helped me. What I meant by the sister is that if you help her achieve happines which she sees through the cigarettes? Best Regards Uroš
  13. Tashi Delek! This text is very interesting. But what happens when you try to help others and instead of grabing your finger they take your hand. I mean what if they use you for no good deed? Is it not better to say no instead of being someone that just follows the desires of others? What if others' desires aren't any good? For an example you have a sister aged 13 and she smokes. Do you help her so that she receives short joy by buying her cigarettes or do you take other measures of help? Best Regards Uroš
  14. Thank you so much for the sites, they really explained a lot.... ;-F and also for explanation! Best regards Uroš
  15. Thank you for your answer. Do you know any e-sites that contain such knowladge? Best regards Uroš
  16. Tashi Delek! I have a problam with the 6 realms. How can I imagine them? I know it is said they are states of mind, however where do they take place? Where are they positioned? What do they look like and are all material? Best regards Uroš
  17. Tashi Delek Can anybody tell what this text is talkin about? http://www.dharmaling.org/Forums/viewtopic/t=305.html Thanks in forward
  18. Thank you - this really helps... It's easyer to read in ones mother tongue . Best regards Uroš
  19. I agree here. If you look at people and they lye to you, how would you feel? And to continue, who do people like most - a person who is honest, one who won't hurt them. From basic stand we can say that you should tell your mother where you're going. You are her daughter - she must accept as who you are. And even if she doesn't, you are who you are - DON'T LET ANYONE CHANGE THAT!
  20. There is also one other thing I'm intersted. It's not about the monks or/and nuns but is more about the refuge. When is one ready to take the refuge? And what are his/her obligations when they take refuge? Also when I was reading the text that given on above link I was wondering how does one remember all the obligations and vows when they receive them to hold? Eventhough they are written I do not understand in what way a person takes them... After refuge what possibilities do one have? I hope I'm not confusing.... 8O Best regards Uroš
  21. Sure, sorry about that. It says that there are 3 ways: Theravada, the small barrel Mahayana, the great barrel Vajrayana, also called magic, mystic buddhism. Hope i made it clearer Best regards Uroš
  22. Why is it called also magic buddhism ---- > source from rtv slovenia http://www.rtvslo.si/modload.php?&c_mod=ava&c_menu=5 ?
  23. Tashi Delek! How does one become a monk or a nun? What do you have to have and what do you have to promise not to do? Are there more ranks? If they are what are promises of the others? Best regards Uroš
