Selective Attention

Recommended Posts

http://www.makku.com/img/optical-illusion-...es-rotating.png

The optical illusions are an example of wrong perception, because of selective attention, which jumps from one object to an other. It seems the wheels rotate with different speed in different directions, although we know the static picture cannot move. It moves because of the mistake in the perception. Can somebody see the picture not moving?

Best regards,

Simona

Amazing trick! :-) Have you tried watching it not focused on details, looking at it as a whole, with even attention to all parts? This way it should stand still.

Selective attention, narrowed focus and illusions are a great metaphor, very useful for daily practice. Thank you for the funny post. ;)

Yes. When being focused on one point, then this very wheel doesn`t rotate, yet all the others do :taptap: . It is needed kind of "absent look" on all wheels at once...

But, I still wouldn`t like to have the wallpaper with such pattern on my room`s walls! 8/

Best regards,

Simona
