Yidam

(skt.: ishtadevata tib.: yidam) Yidam is ones tutelary deity, a personal protector of ones practice and guide to Enlightenment; it is the deity with which one has the strongest connection. Yidam is also referred to as the Sacred Mind, an emanation of ones manifestation of the true nature in the Sambhogakaya aspects.
